Movies that Change the World

New Words – Brian Stokes Mitchell
The first time I heard this song I was drawn into an innocence I didn’t even know existed inside me. As a writer you are always looking for the right words to evoke emotions or to paint a story, or a picture, so your audience can be there with you in the moment. I hadn’t ever thought about teaching New Words to a child. What do you say first? What do you teach to a new soul about our world and about life. The song was written by the brilliant and prolific composer Maury Yeston. It is featured in his musical “In the Beginning” This particular rendition is sung by one of my favorite vocal artists Brian Stokes Mitchell. I fell in love with his voice at the premier of the Broadway smash hit Ragtime. I have since followed his career and his concerts with fervor and delight. You can also find additional recording by two of my theatrical heroes Mandy Patinkin (Evita, Sunday in The Park With George) and Liz Callaway who has been a vocal hero of mine since I first saw her onstage back in 1983 on Broadway in Baby. Enjoy the music and if you have a child, for certain, this song is for you!

Wish Man
Do you ever wish you could go back in time? This is my one wish. Several years ago, I had the honor and distinct pleasure of meeting Frank Shankwitz. Upon meeting Frank, we quickly became friends. Frank was a larger-than-life hero with a heart the size of the universe. Frank and his wife, Kitty, lit up any room they entered. Their radiant smiles, open arms, and magical presence let you know you were in the presence of something quite extraordinary. Frank was the founder of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that restored hope and joy to over 350,000 critically ill children. As a motorcycle cop, Frank made one child’s dream come true, and then he asked, “If I can help one child, how about other children?” Frank instinctively knew every child deserves to have their wishes heard and for their dreams to come true. Frank’s remarkable life was on the precipice of becoming a screenplay. He approached me to write his movie, and at the time I was working on a show, and my heart ached that there was not two of me in this world. I knew the importance of the story, and I suggested he find another writer, as the world needed to know and to learn how to truly, truly love. The movie “Wish Man” was indeed made, and I couldn’t be prouder of it if I wrote it myself. The film is a glorious accounting of Frank’s life and the amazing journey to gift children their ultimate wish. Christian Ganiere is a remarkably talented young man who I know through our charity work at the Royal Society of St. George. He’s a young boy who is a light in this world. I was thrilled to learn he was cast as Michael, the first child to receive his wish.
Currently a monument is being erected in Prescott, Arizona, of Frank Shankwitz to honor the man and his legendary vision. His story and heart will live on forever and a day!

Consider This
I was honored when asked to participate in this uplifting, elevating, and life-changing project. “Consider This” is a movie that opens new perspectives and doors to living and to life itself. World thought leaders came together to share different views and possibilities on the secret and the art of living. For a compelling and captivating perspective, and with global teaching and a fresh set of eyes, I invite you to share in my world and in my friends’ worlds, our inner thoughts, secrets, and the gold mine in our hearts.
Barbie
I love this video. I love this concept, the content, and the deep meaning behind every word. I share this video in all my teachings and in all my workshops. The word “sorry” is often a reflex and not the truth. Often, “sorry” should be replaced by gratitude, which is a higher vibration and a more powerful way to live. To step into the power of words, I invite you to enjoy this video.
Resolutions
I love this video for so many reasons. As a transformational leader, the idea of resolutions always comes up, and it is taught at every level of transformation. Through the years five ideas of resolution always seem most effective and the fastest track for change and success.
Number one, thought leader Steve D’Annunzio teaches a process called hard/easy. If you do what’s hard first. If you tackle a great challenge or do whatever scares you first, the rest becomes a piece of cake. When I’m having a challenge or difficult day or moment, I always say to myself, “Piece of cake.” I even have a post-it in my house prominently placed—piece of cake. Steve’s methodology is used by Fortune 500 giants and CEOs worldwide. To learn more about Steve’s phenomenal work, visit www.missiondrivenadvisor.com.
The second and third are by one of my personal heroes and mentors, Raymond Aaron, author of Double Your Money Doing What You Love. Raymond has mastered the art of goal setting and affective positive change. One of his secrets is a form he called Mainly. The M stands for Mess, A is acknowledge, I is increase, N is new, L is learn, and Y is yourself. A monthly tracking and goal-setting minimum target and outrageous goals lead to super skills in life mastery and success. From this I have learned problem-solving and delegation, and I have exceeded every goal, wish, and dream. Through this program I have not only exceeded my goals but I have also soared to success. Raymond also has a genius plan with backwards goals. Starting a year from now, looking back over your year and success. These tools not only skyrocket your resolutions to fruition, but they also change your life to a free, happier, healthier, and more prosperous you. To learn about Raymond’s programs www.aaron.com
The fourth program sounds crazy, but it works. My friend Will Powers created a way to knock every resolution down easy, seamlessly, and fearlessly. Will starts every year outlining for himself what kind of year he wants to have. If he wants to build a business, make more money, travel the world, or fall in love, he asks himself, what qualities would he need to create that action item, life change, or event? If he needs patience, he will create a problem that teaches him patience. If he needs resilience, he will create a problem to become more resilient. If he needs fearlessness, he will create a scenario in which he will have to face his fears head-on. Instead of problems happening to him, or challenges chasing him, or the world crumbling around his feet, he will choose—yes, choose—his problems and challenges for the upcoming year. He will literally create scenarios to obtain the qualities he needs for his desired outcome and overall success. Now that’s a way to keep a resolution. The fifth, and the cherry on the Sunday, you can find on my website. Those conversations and actions between meals and during the hours of your day and how you lead and live your life. My program shares the gift of the listening element, the unity, and the partnership and friendship with your body and your dreams. I teach the most effective, powerful, and transformational ways to have an outstanding you. Happiness happens when you are present, when you listen, and when you act, create, and manifest your dreams and the unfolding of your life. When you unleash and reveal your words are not just words but golden manifestations to create every wish, want, and dream.
